Neil Finn remakes 'Blue Smoke'

With the 100th anniversary of ANZAC day fast approaching - it is stunning that Neil Finn has chosen to remake Ruru Karaitiana's hauntingly beautiful and timeless "Blue Smoke' to mark this thought provoking day.

Finn's rendition is made even more special because he's teamed with one of the original muscian's, lap-steel guitarist Jim Carter, and made the recording in Carter's Nelson home.

As the original recording artist, Pixie Williams' said:

No matter what, music will always live on.

For this historical treasure - she couldn't be more right.

Read Chris Bourkes' full account of the making of 'Blue Smoke' and Finn's version here.
